A heating technique using radiant mulch

A heating technique using radiant mulch

Colture Protette 11(10): 31-34

The radiant mulch is a French invention patented by the Commissariat a l'Energie Atomique. It is made of two layers of black PVC sheeting welded together to form five adjacent parallel pipes, the whole being highly flexible and measuring 20-35 cm from side to side. The pipes are laid on the greenhouse soil along the plant row and are continuously fed with tepid water from a sunken water tank contained in a small separate plastic greenhouse.
