The sphaerocerid Leptocera fuscipennis (Hal.), which has been a nuisance in dwellings near Tokyo Airport, Japan is redescribed. Adults of this halophilous species are often attracted to lights in the evening. The larvae breed in moist layers of sludge under a dry crust and pupate on dry substances.
