A laboratory method for assessing the effectiveness of remedial treatments in preventing post-treatment emergence of Anobium punctatum

A laboratory method for assessing the effectiveness of remedial treatments in preventing post-treatment emergence of Anobium punctatum

Document, International Research Group on Wood Preservation, Working Group II, Fundamentals of Testing (IRG/WP/2175): 5

A paper prepared for the 13th annual meeting, Cesme, Izmir, Turkey, 24-28 May, 1982. Composite sample blocks are prepared by gluing four 7-mm thick veneers (each with the same grain orientation), cut from the face of preservative-treated blocks of Scots pine, to the outside of larvae-infested cores of untreated wood. The blocks are exposed to a diurnal temp. regime fluctuating between 6 and 13 deg C in order to stimulate pupation.
