A layman's look at tourism statistics



Cornell Hotel and Restaurant Administration Quarterly 23(1): 6-9



The article attempts to provide simple explanations of the concepts underlying different quantitative measures of the economic effects of tourism. A comparison is made of the different measures most commonly employed in tourism studies. Examples are drawn from studies of the economic impact of tourism in Massachusetts.
