A limit theorem for soils

A method is described of formulating the collapse problem of slope stability and other related problems of soil mechanics, in such a manner that conditions are imposed on the stresses and strain rates in the entire soil body involved. For the stresses the Coulomb=Mohr limit condition is taken into account, and for the strain rates the double sliding, free rotating model for the flow of granular media is applied.
