A livestock improvement programme in Ghana. In: Training for agriculture and rural development 1981

The article reviews the present agricultural situation in Tonga District, Ghana, and particularly considers the introduction of improved cattle into the system of livestock husbandry. Simple traditional livestock management is carried out in the district with little veterinary care, uncontrolled breeding and consequent inbreeding, no supplementary feeding, and the use of family labour.
