A living intraocular parasite

A living intraocular parasite

Klinische Monatsblatter fur Augenheilkunde 179(6): 413-414

A 48-year-old woman, who had never been out of Austria, complained of inflammation of the left eye. A worm had been seen in her eye by previous doctors. On examination, there was on the periphery of the fundus a moving lucid strand which seemed to be a living parasite, probably some unknown filarial worm from wild animals. X-rays and a biopsy showed a Loffler-like eosinophil granuloma in the lung.
