A major gene with quantitative effect on two different viruses: CMV and TMV

A major gene with quantitative effect on two different viruses: CMV and TMV

Capsicum Newsletter (1): 54-56

Observations of the number of local lesions induced by cucumber mosaic virus (CMV) strain N on two susceptible control varieties (Yolo Wonder and Yolo Y), on five partially resistant introductions, on F1 hybrids between resistant and susceptible types and on the second backcross progeny of Rama X Yolo Wonder and Rama X Yolo Y showed the existence of a major dominant gene (Riv) controlling resistance.
