A mechanical stalk-cut burley tobacco cutter

Tobacco International 185(1): 30-31

A self-propelled, self-steered mechanical burley tobacco cutter was developed using an inclined gathering chain conveyor to transport the stalk cut plants to the operator for manual spearing onto a mechanically assisted spear. Plants were then transferred to a wooden stick for conventional field wilting.
