A mechanism of kaolinite flocculation with flocculants produced by bacteria isolated from activated sludge in milk plant

A mechanism of kaolinite flocculation with flocculants produced by bacteria isolated from activated sludge in milk plant

XXI International Dairy Congress Vol 1, Book 2: 594

Flocculant-producing bacteria were incubated in a liquid casitone-glycerol-yeast extract medium at 30 deg C for 88 h. Resulting flocculants, refined by pH adjustment and ethanol extraction, caused kaolinite flocculation in presence of certain salts and amino acids.
