A method for quantitative assessment of bone formation using double labelling with tetracycline and calcein

A method for quantitative assessment of bone formation using double labelling with tetracycline and calcein

Nordisk Veterinaermedicin 35(4): 180-183

A method is described by which it is possible to quantify bone formation in the distal sesamoid bone in the horse using double labelling of the bone with calcein and tetracycline which in ultraviolet light are seen as fluorochromic bands with different colours. The labelling time and optimal dosage of each fluorochrome are given.
