A method of estimating construction costs of large rural road projects over varying terrain in less developed countries

A method of estimating construction costs of large rural road projects over varying terrain in less developed countries

International Journal for Development Technology 1(1): 37-49

Construction costs were estimated for each of nine route corridors varying between 540 and 800 km in length in Papua New Guinea. The cost estimates were used as a basis for making economic comparisons between the routes to enable one of them to be selected for more detailed study. The routes lay over practically uninhabited mountainous terrain and coastal swamps.
