A methodological comparison of hydride and carbon furnace atomic absorption spectroscopy for the determination of selenium in serum

A methodological comparison of hydride and carbon furnace atomic absorption spectroscopy for the determination of selenium in serum

Clinica Chimica Acta; International Journal of Clinical Chemistry 124(3): 277-291

Both hydride atomic absorption and carbon furnace methods were suitable for estimating selenium in serum and values were well correlated. The former method is more complicated and the latter method, which can be applied directly to diluted samples, can be used to analyse 50 to 70 samples daily.
