A microcomputer-based annual ring measurement system

Forestry Chronicle 59(1): 21-25

The design and use of the DIGI-MIC, a commercially available system for measuring annual rings, are described and illustrated. The system consists of a microcomputer, a measuring table with a moveable platform, a remote control unit for controlling platform travel speed and for signalling the passage of each annual ring under a microscope, and a cassette recorder for data storage.
