A mixed forest ecosystem. 4. General data on soil microarthropods and the population structure of Oribatid Acari

A mixed forest ecosystem. 4. General data on soil microarthropods and the population structure of Oribatid Acari

Revue d' Ecologie et de Biologie du Sol 18(3): 339-356

The abundance of Acari and Collembola in the forest of Foljuif, Seine et Marne, France, was greater under Carpinus betulus than under Pinus sylvestris, and greater in summer than in winter; in the summer the differences between the two habitats were small. Acari were more abundant than Collembola at all samplings. The Oribatei were the most numerous group of the Acari. Oribatei and Actinedidae were more numerous under Carpinus than under Pinus, while for Acaridae the reverse was true.
