A new cytotype of Physalis angulata L

A new cytotype of Physalis angulata L

Chromosome Information Service (32): 3-4

Tetraploid Ph. angulata has 2n = 48. Cytological analysis of a population from Tanzania found 2n = 50, with 25 bivalents being formed at meiosis in most plants studied. The extra chromosomes were identical in size and staining properties with the other A chromosomes in the complement. In morphology, these plants closely resembled other accessions of Ph. angulata.
