A new fungicide for the control of black stripe



Planters' Bulletin of the Rubber Research Institute of Malaysia (174): 13-16



Data are presented from trials with Ridomil (metalaxyl) and Difolatan (captafol), in water or in an oil-in-water emulsion (PY formulation), applied protectively or curatively against black stripe (Phytophthora palmivora and P. botryosa) of rubber. Applied protectively at weekly intervals, Ridomil at 0.4% a.i. in PY gave 90% control; Difolatan at 0.8% in PY was less effective, as were both fungicides in water.
