A new method for propagating woody plants from tissue culture

A new method for propagating woody plants from tissue culture

American Nurseryman 157(1): 65-66, 68, 70

In the method of propagating Rhododendron catawbiense described, complete flower buds were collected at different times during the dormant season, and the florets were removed. The florets were placed in test tubes on Anderson's medium containing 1 or 4 mg IAA and 4 or 15 mg 2iP/litre, and kept in the dark for 2 weeks, followed by exposure to white fluorescent light for 18 h/day at 26 deg C.
