A new nutrient medium for nisin-producing Streptococcus lactis

On the basis of extensive tests of medium components and proportions, a nutrient medium consisting of a yeast autolysate (containing 40 mg% NH2), 2% molasses, 2% NH4H2PO4 and 1% K2SO4 is recommended for culturing nisin-producing strains of Streptococcus lactis.
