A new species of Praon (Hymenoptera: Aphidiidae), parasitic on the dusky-veined walnut aphid, Callaphis juglandis (Homoptera: Aphididae)

A new species of Praon (Hymenoptera: Aphidiidae), parasitic on the dusky-veined walnut aphid, Callaphis juglandis (Homoptera: Aphididae)

Canadian Entomologist 1142: 1159-1161

Praon callaphis sp.n., a parasite of aphids, is described from adults of both sexes reared from Callaphis juglandis (Goeze) on walnut in 1975 and 1978 in California, the aphidiid having been introduced from Afghanistan and released in California in 1975-78 for the biological control of C. juglandis.
