A preliminary report on the epidemiology of proliferative kidney disease in brown trout (Salmo trutta) and Atlantic salmon parr (S. salar) in Scotland

Outbreaks of proliferative kidney disease (PKD) are described in farmed brown trout and salmon. This is the first report of major outbreaks in these species. The disease occurred in cultured brood trout but not in wild brood fish.
