An evaluation of the interaction between interstocks and rootstocks on the yield and tree size of 'Valencia' orange

Newton Valencia Late orange scions were grafted directly onto cvs Troyer and Carrizo citrange and cvs Jaffa and Cox Sweet orange rootstocks or with Troyer citrange, trifoliate orange or Microcitrus australasica interstocks. Troyer citrange interstocks had no effect on tree size but enhanced yields, trifoliate orange interstocks reduced tree width but did not reduce yields, and M. australasica interstocks reduced tree size and yields too much.
