Abstract
Residues of 2,4-D, 2,4,5-T and fenoprop were extracted from fruits including apples, lemons and tomatoes and were methylated with diazomethane. The esters were cleaned on silica-gel then determined by GLC. Identity was confirmed by gas chromotography and mass spectrometry. No residues were found in oranges or grapefuit but 5,1 and 0.5 p.p.h.m. 2,4-D, 2,4,5-T and fenoprop were found in other fruits.
