Antibodies to the glycoprotein antigen of the bovine leukemia virus (BLV) in Kentucky dairy cattle

Antibodies to the glycoprotein antigen of the bovine leukemia virus (BLV) in Kentucky dairy cattle

Proceedings of the Annual Meeting of the American Association of Veterinary Laboratory Diagnosticians 23: 371-380

The agar gel immunodiffusion test using a glycoprotein antigen was performed on 3121 blood samples from 69 dairy herds in 27 counties mainly in central and western Kentucky. The results showed a significantly higher infection rate in the wet, low lying western region. The overall positive reactor rate was 39%.
