Biological activity of the algal toxin of blue-green algae responsible for algal bloom

Biological activity of the algal toxin of blue-green algae responsible for algal bloom

Hydrobiological Journal 16(6): 41-45

ISSN/ISBN: 0018-8166

The toxin of blue-green algae was given by mouth or by other means to rats, mice, rabbits and guineapigs and by intravenous injection to cats, rabbits and rats. Its anticholinesterase activity was estimated using preparations in vitro of medicinal leech frog heart or capillaries and of the vessels of the concha auriculae of rabbits.
