Breeding local rice cultivars for mountainous areas by irradiation
Dry seeds of seven tall, lodging susceptible, local red-grain varieties with good quality, cold tolerance and wide adaptability were irradiated with a 35 kR dose of gamma rays and 14 mutant lines were obtained after >3 generations of selection.
