Characteristics of water-eroded fields in lowland England
A survey has been made of water-eroded fields in lowland England. The cultural and physical characteristics of these fields and the rainfalls associated with erosion are examined. Erosion took place on arable lands, usually when soils were without crop cover. Most erosion was in spring and early summer and amounts of rainfall associated with erosion were small compared to those causing erosion in other countries.
