Characterization and inheritance studies of fruit pigmentation and rind development in Cucurbita pepo L

, : Characterization and inheritance studies of fruit pigmentation and rind development in Cucurbita pepo L. Dissertation Abstracts International, B 43(11): 3466B

Cultivars Early Prolific (EP), Small Sugar (SS) and Fordhook Zucchini (FZ) formed an allelic series of YE, YI and YO which control the timing and extent of "fruit degreening". These alleles did not affect the final fruit colour which was under independent genetic control. The Y alleles were incompletely dominant and each heterozygote was intermediate both in terms of timing and completeness of colour change. Lignified rind was conditioned by a single dominant gene, Hr.

We recently reported that the hormonal status of female rats modified atrial natriuretic factor (ANF) receptors and the aldosterone-suppressant activity of ANF in adrenal glomerulosa cells; here we investigated if this was also true for adrenal fa...

Grazia, 2004: Apoptosis induced by oxaliplatin in human colon cancer HCT15 cell line. Background: Oxaliplatin (L-OHP), active in a wide range of human and animal tumours, also CDDP-resistant, possesses unique molecular characteristics of action. However, the mechanisms by which the damage induced by L-OHP triggers a death signal ar...

Bilateral quisqualic acid-induced lesions of the nucleus basalis magnocellularis (nbm) in rats disrupted the expression of latent inhibition, a phenomenon thought to be dependent upon selective attention processes. Since grafts of adrenal chromaff...

Masuda, Kazuhiko, 2006: Infrared sea surface emissivity including multiple reflection effect for isotropic Gaussian slope distribution model. A method is described for incorporating surface-emitted surface-reflected (SESR) radiation into the calculation of infrared sea surface emissivity. Firstly, the direct emissivity is obtained by ignoring SESR emission. Next, the first order SESR em...

This article describes a computational method to construct gene models by using evidence generated from a diverse set of sources, including those typical of a genome annotation pipeline. The program, called Combiner, takes as input a genomic seque...
