Methylated or acetylated Norway spruce bark extracts (obtained by successive treatment of ground spruce bark 95% with ethanol, hot water, and either cold or hot 2% sodium carbonate or 1% NaOH solution) were characterized by high pressure size exclusion and reversed phase chromatography.
