Data from a sowing date study indicated that sowing date had no effect on the magnitude of oat straw yield reduction caused by the underseeded lucerne when averaged over oat cultivars. However, straw yields of individual oat cultivars were differentially reduced by the lucerne in an early sowing while the straw yields of all were similarly reduced in a late sowing.
