Phloem exudates from Citrullus vulgaris (cv. Charleston Grey), Cucumis sativus (cv. Telegraph) and Cucurbita maxima (cvs Golden Delicious and Mammoth) were gelled by oxidative formation of disulphide bridges between the phloem filaments.
