In an herbicide evaluation for the control of P. paradoxa in winter wheat and winter barley during 1981-2, all pre-em. treatments provided some control with 2.8 kg terbutryne/ha, 2.3 kg tri-allate/ha followed by 1.5 kg terbutryne pre-em. or by 1.1 kg diclofop-methyl post-em., and with 2 kg pendimethalin/ha alone. Of the post-em. treatments evaluated separately, 1.7 kg diclofop-methyl/ha was the best.
