Chemical forms and behavior of heavy metals in soils
After a brief outline of the forms in which heavy metals occur in the soil, a review is presented under the following headings: exchange equilibria of Ca-Zn and Ca-Cd on the surface of clay minerals and soil; adsorption of heavy metals by humus; solubility of heavy metals in soils in oxidized states; chemical forms of Cd in soils; and behaviour of Hg (particularoy organomercury) in soil.
