Soyabean seed yields were increased from 16 bu/ac in unweeded plots to 19 bu/ac by an early cultivation to control cocklebur (Xanthium sp.). Application of 0.75 lb a.i. RH-5781, 0.50 lb Basagran + 2% Super Savol or 0.375 lb Basagran + 1.5 pints Herbex ac each gave yields of 22 bu/ac and 0.75 lb Basagran/ac gave the max. yield of 25 bu/ac. In maize/soyabean rotations, Sorghum halepense control was greatest with Eradicane and Prowl in maize and with Treflan and Prowl in soyabeans.
