Chemiluminescence as a tool in parasite research

, : Chemiluminescence as a tool in parasite research. Zentralblatt fur Bakteriologie Mikrobiologie und Hygiene I Abteilung: Supplemente: 2) 101-112

Chemiluminescence measurements in parasite models, review (Nematospiroides dubius, resistant rats (in contrast to susceptible mice) mounted strong peritoneal granulocyte reaction resulting in marked increase of chemiluminescence (CL) and enhanced killing of antibody or complement coated infective larvae; Plasmodium berghei, peritoneal macrophages from normal mice produced CL response to lysed infected erythrocytes which was potentiated in presence of immune serum and after activation of macrophages by supernatants of spleen cell cultures from immune mice, P. berghei infection had strong suppressive effect on CL activity of spleen cells to zymosan particles)

CSH 1, CSH 5, CSH 6, CSH 9, CSH 10, CSH 11, CSV 10 and CSV 11 were screened for their relative susceptibility against Angoumois grain moth, Sitotroga cerealella (.Olivier) under laboratory conditions. BEDFORD, J.M., 1965: Effect Of Environment On Phagocytosis Of Rabbit Spermatozoa. The phagocytosis of rabbit spermatozoa has been studied with the electron microscope, and the process of ingestion of both intact and damaged spermatozoa by leucocytes in the estrous uterus is described. The cell membrane and acrosome cap remained...

We measure the number of atoms N trapped in a conventional vapor-cell magneto-optic trap (MOT) using beams that have a diameter d in the range 1-5 mm. We show that the N is proportional to d(3.6) scaling law observed for larger MOTs is a robust ap...

Commercial landings and ex-vessel values for 2001 of several California fisheries are presented and compared with those in previous years. The reaction of the water-soluble carbodiimide, 1-ethyl-3-(3-dimethylaminopropyl)carbodiimide (EDC), with active papain in the presence of the nucleophile ethyl glycinate results in an irreversible inactivation of the enzyme. This inactivation is...
