Clinical and epizootiological aspects of bovine paramphistomiasis in Lazio

Five clinical cases of Paramphistomum infection in cattle from 2 areas of Lazio, Italy, are described. Postmortem examination of 734 cattle from one of the areas (Monti della Tolfa, Province of Rome) showed 469 (63.9%) to be infected with trematodes; 429 (58.5%) were infected with P. cervi, 218 (29.7%) with Fasciola hepatica and 50 (6.8%) with Dicrocoelium dendriticum.
