Combination of chemical and mechanical methods of weed control in grain sorghum (Sorghum bicolor Moench)

In a field trial in 1979-80, on an area where the predominant weeds were Amaranthus quitensis, Portulaca oleracea, Digitaria sanguinalis, Echinochloa crus-galli, Raphanus raphanistrum and Rapistrum rugosum, max. sorghum grain yields were obtained with a mixture of atrazine and metolachlor at 1.0 + 1.0 kg/ha or atrazine at 1.9 kg/ha. Atrazine was the least effective herbicide against D. sanguinalis.
