Combining ability for Fusarium wilt resistance in some flax and linseed varieties

The progenies of a five-variety half diallel were compared, in respect of resistance to F. oxysporum f. sp. lini, with the parental varieties, which themselves displayed a broad range of resistance. Assessed at three stages of development in two successive years, Natasja was the most resistant variety and none of the F1 material approached it in this respect. Natasja also had the highest general combining ability for resistance and is recommended for breeding.
