Contribution to the study of the resistance of local maize varieties to northern leaf blight (Helminthosporium turcicum Pass.)

In inoculation trials with H. turcicum in the field, the highest percentage of resistant varieties was found in dent types from the USA and large-eared flints. Monogenic resistance was most common. Of 1136 varieties, 344 were resistant and 465 moderately so.
