Corrosion and materials degradation in the agricultural industry

Corrosion and materials degradation in the agricultural industry

Agricultural Engineer 38(1): 13-20

Results of a pilot survey of corrosion and related problems in the United Kingdom reveal annual direct (first order) corrosion and materials degradation losses of about pounds-sterling 180M. The inclusion of approximate estimates for consequential (i.e. second order) losses and equipment depreciation suggests that total losses could be in excess of pounds-sterling 500M.
