Digestibility of some protein feeds and absorption of amino acids in the digestive tract of pigs

Digestibility of some protein feeds and absorption of amino acids in the digestive tract of pigs

Zbornik Radova, Institut za Stocarstvo, Novi Sad (11/12): 123-144

DM and total nitrogen contents of digesta passing through the duodenum and the apparent digestibility of amino acids in diets of maize with soya bean oilmeal, fishmeal, sunflower oilmeal or skimmed milk powder were estimated in pigs about 5 months old and 50 to 60 kg liveweight. Digestibilities were higher in the digestive tract as a whole than in the small intestine; values were lowest on maize and sunflower oilmeal and highest on maize and skimmed milk powder.
