Effect of growth retardants on the vegetative and physiological characters of groundnut (Arachis hypogaea L.)

A foliar application of 2000-4000 p.p.m. Alar or 1000-2000 p.p.m. CCC or TIBA to irrigated groundnut 60 days after sowing significantly decreased the plant ht., Alar being the most effective. The number of secondary branches/plant increased with Alar and CCC. Alar increased the LAI.
