The salad cucumber cvs K. Salata F1 and Fembaby F1 were planted in heated plastic houses on 26 March at 1.5, 2.0, 2.5 or 3.0 plants/m2 and pruned by removing all fruits from the main stem up to a height of 50 or 150 cm. Fruit removal reduced early yields in both cvs, but increased total yield in K. Salata F1. Increasing plant densities increased fruit numbers and weight/plot in both cvs.
