Effect of spacing, plant population and irrigation on soyabean seed yield

Effect of spacing, plant population and irrigation on soyabean seed yield

Pesquisa Agropecuaria Brasileira 17(5): 733-739

In field trials at Guaiba, soyabean Parana was sown in rows 30, 60 or 90 cm apart at 250, 350 or 450 thousand plants/ha. The plants were not irrigated or irrigated during vegetative growth, flowering or pod development. Irrigation had no significant effect on seed yield. Yield decreased as spacing increased from an av. of 2.13 t/ha with a 30-cm spacing to 1.2 t when sown 90 cm apart.
