Potassium sulphate was applied mechanically between each or alternate rows of a vineyard (at 20 or 40 cm depth), or broadcast or applied manually by conventional methods. Average yields were highest (1.895 kg/plant) with K applied at 20 cm depth between each row, and lowest (0.994 kg/plant) with broadcasting. Leaf N, P and K contents increased to a similar degree with all treatments.
