Energy saving of grain drier - a thermodynamic evaluation ( Part 2). Grain drying by heat pump and exergy flow of the system

Energy saving of grain drier - a thermodynamic evaluation ( Part 2). Grain drying by heat pump and exergy flow of the system

Research Report on Agricultural Machinery 12: 84-103

The merits of using a heat pump in rice grain drying equipment are discussed. They include: (1) energy savings due to using the heat of atmospheric air and recovering exhaust air; (2) automatic operation at night is possible, with no fire risk; (3) simple operation, since an ignition system and fuel supply are not necessary; (4) the control of temp. and humidity is possible, and therefore the maintenance of grain quality; (5) only clean, heated air is produced.
