Estimation of the digestibility of the crude nutrients and amino acids of two varieties of field beans (Vicia faba L.) in colostomized laying hens

Estimation of the digestibility of the crude nutrients and amino acids of two varieties of field beans (Vicia faba L.) in colostomized laying hens

Archiv fur Tierernahrung 32(9): 651-658

Groups of 4 colostomized hybrid laying hens were given a feed with 10, 20, 40 or 50% horse beans (Vicia faba). Average apparent digestibilities were for the variety Fribo crude protein 80.5, crude fat 55.5, crude fibre 34.8 and N-free extract 83.5%. Corresponding values for the variety Erfordia were 77.9, 48.8, 17.2 and 78.2%.
