Evidence of inhibitory action of jurema-preta on in vitro fermentation of forage grasses

Evidence of inhibitory action of jurema-preta on in vitro fermentation of forage grasses

Boletim de Pesquisa, Centro de Pesquisa Agropecuaria do Tropico Semi Arido (11): 15

After parts of the shrub legume Mimosa hostilis were found in steers using oesophageal fistulation, leaves and fine stems were taken from various plants and analysed. Composition of the plant material was 16.11% CP, 3.08% ether extract, 11.83% CF, 65.46% N-free extract and 3.44% ash; in vitro DM digestibility was only 21.0%.
