Abstract
For Pleven Blackhead (PB), Awassi X PB, East Friesian (EF) X PB, and Awassi X (EF X PB) lambs (10-12 per group) that had been weaned at 50 days of age, body weight at weaning averaged 15.5, 15.8, 15.7 and 15.7 kg resp., the duration of fattening 99, 92, 97 and 102 days, daily gain 253, 263, 253 and 239 g, the consumption of FU/kg gain 4.8, 4.3, 4.5 and 4.8, dressing percentage 56.2, 56.2, 56.7 and 56.2, the percentage of lean in the carcass 57.1, 55.1, 60.6 and 58.0, the percentage of leg 28.1, 28.4, 29.3 and 29.7, the percentage of loin 15.0, 13.4, 13.7 and 12.9, and water-holding capacity of lean 40.2, 40.8, 41.1 and 38.9%.
