Feeding value of some urea concentrates fed with maize silage and dried maize to dairy cows and young cattle

Paper, 32nd Annual Meeting, European Association for Animal Production (V-12 N5.12): 6

In 5 feeding trials groups of 7 cows and 9 growing heifers were given maize silage with Melwit concentrate (molasses 60%, urea 5%, minerals and vitamins), Walczan concentrate (barley 42%, urea 32% and additives 26%) or extruded barley (urea 20%) or standard concentrate to supply requirements for 12 l milk, with cereal concentrates for higher yielding animals. The cows received 150-200 g urea daily and heifers 50 g.
